Day 1 | Cochin
On your arrival in Kochi you will be transferred to your hotel. Kochi earlier known as Cochin is referred as the Queen of Arabian Sea. Kochi has remained the popular centre in across the world for the trade of spices for number of centu- ries. The name of the city comes from Malayalam term “Kochazhi” that actually means small lagoon. Kochi was put on the world map by Vasco-de- Gama. The Arabs, Portuguese, British, Dutch, all have left their impression on the history of Kochi. After Mumbai, Kochi is probably the second most important city on the west coast of India. Day 2 | Cochin
During the morning city tour of Kochi, you will be taken to some of the renowned spots of Kochi that will include the Portuguese churches, mosques and temples along with the Jewish synagogue. You will be taken to watch the Chinese style fishing nets which are mostly seen in Kerala. It holds around 10m of height and consists of cantilever along with an out- stretched net that is suspended in the sea and one huge stone sus- pended on other end with ropes for the counterweights. Every installa- tion of this fishing-net gets operated by group of six fishermen. Checkout from the hotel at 1200 hrs. Later in the evening enjoy Kathakali dance show. Note: Jew synagogue-closed on Fridays & Saturdays, Dutch palace-closed on Fri- days, St Francis church-Closed on Saturdays noon & Sunday morning) Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 | Cochin → Munnar by road
Drive for about four hours along the wind- ing road to Munnar, while enjoying the stun- ning landscape passing by the window. On your arrival, check-in and have the remain- der of the day at leisure, relaxing or explor- ing the locality around your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4 | Munnar
As an epitome of Kerala's natural beauty, Munnar is definitely a relaxing place for people of all ages. Take a full-day adventure in Munnar to savor its stunning natural beauty. You will enjoy a short trekking tour to Attukad Waterfalls, explore tea gardens and the Tea Museum, and walk around the tea plantations after having a panoramic view of the sur- rounding hills from Echo Point. Note : Tea museum(Closed on Monday) Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 | Munnar → Periyar by road
Today you will leave for Periyar Animal Sanctu- ary. Periyar is famous as an Elephant and Tiger Reserve and shelters various animals like Ben- gal Tiger, Indian elephant, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog, langur, monkeys, etc. It has an abundance of birds and plants. A boat ride in the Periyar Lake gives you the possibility of watching the different animals The Park is surrounded by various plantation regions for coffee, tea, etc. and a visit to these plantations is a worth. Morning drive to Periyar (It is about 3.5 Hours). After hotel check-in and a short break, stroll through the spice plantations with a local naturalist, learning about their various uses in medicine and food. In the late afternoon, enjoy a shared boat ride on Periyar Lake at the heart of the Periyar National Reserve. During the 1.5-hour voyage, you may witness herds of elephants or sambar deer roaming freely near the lake or various water birds resting on dead tree trunks over the water. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 | Periyar → Alleppey by road
Today you will leave for Alleppey. Alappuzha gets its name from two words, Ala (broad) and Puzha (river). Alappuzha gets this name as it is between the broad Arabian Sea and a network of rivers flowing into it. When Lord Curzon the then Viceroy of the India saw Alappuzha, he exclaimed “Here nature has spent up on the land her richest bounties” and called this place “Alleppey, the Venice of the East”. History traded ancient Greece and Ro- mans even before Christ and also during the middle Ages. Different religions mingled and built their churches, mosques and temples. You will embark a houseboat which is quite an experience. The Kerala backwaters are a network of large lakes linked by canals and fed by rivers. The backwaters are formed because of the waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands. Here you will board a houseboat in Kerala’s backwaters. The charm of staying a night in the houseboats known as kettuvallam in the backwaters is great. These boats were used to ferry the grain. Thatched roof covers provide protection from the sun and rain. The boats are like floating cottages with a sleeping area, toilets, dining area and a sit out on the deck. The food is cooked on board by staff. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 | Alleppey → Kovalam by road
Drive to Kovalam. Kovalam meaning a grove of coconut trees is a town at the Arabian Sea and is a paradise of the south. Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi of Travancore had built the Halcyon Castle here in the 1920s. Kovalam has a lot of sa- lons for Ayurvedic treatments for all. Kovalam has many beach resorts offering Ayurve- dic treatment for recuperation and regeneration. Kovalam has one of the best beaches of In- dia. Overnight is in Kovalam. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8 | Kovalam (No transport service)
Your full day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel. Optional activity: Excursion to Cape Comorin on the southernmost tip of India visit the famous Amman Temple.
